Oddometer: 1,817. I'd go with the Z1000SX / Ninja 1000 over the GTR simply to have a more nimble sport tourer with ABS. To me, chains are a plus, as I can adjust the final drive ratio to suit my needs.. Stock setup of 15/41 can be changed to 16/42 or 16/39 for more highway cruising.
Hi Folks; On August 4, 2013 I went to a local dealer to test ride the Concours1400 and FJR1300 with the plan being to buy the Kawasaki but ride the Yamaha just to be fair. The short version of that story is that on the following Wednesday I picked up my new FJR. I just liked it a little better forum.concours.org.
87 posts · Joined 2018. #10 · Apr 5, 2019. In my opinion, the Multistrada isn't a true sport touring bike when compared to something like a Yamaha FJR for instance. It is definitely more on the sport side than the tour side for a couple of reasons when compared to those other type of bikes.
