But I don't understand why this is a problem. Can you give an example? Just spend your bigger notes and unfortunately they soon become smaller. The largest note you'll see is a £20 - you'll never see a £50. And there are too many coins - 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p 20p, 50p, £1, £2. Most of my spending is done via contactless cards these days.
